Recently, in 2020, the Ministry of Water Resources supervised and assessed the key items of the Changjiang Water Resources Commission--the preliminary work of the Yangtze-to-Han River Diversion Project has been successfully completed as required. The feasibility study report and the preliminary design report of the pre-starting project of the River Diversion Project and the preliminary design report of the project have successfully passed the review by the Water Regulation Institute, and the project environmental impact assessment report will also be submitted to the Ministry of Water Resources at the end of September 2020.

 

Speeding up the follow-up project of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, including the project of diverting water to Han River, is a major decision-making arrangement of the Party Central Committee and the State Council and an important arrangement of the Ministry of Water Resources. As a follow-up water source project of the Middle Route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, the implementation of the Yangtze-to-Han River Diversion Project is of great significance to further increase the water supply guarantee rate of the first phase of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, increase the water volume of the Middle Route Project to the North, and improve the water ecological environment in the middle and lower reaches of the Han River.
